BACK TO SCHOOL… SORT OF
The kids sat in their real classroom.
Teacher:
“Okay class, welcome back! We will have a peaceful day—”
Another BOOM erupted outside.
Lucy buried her face in her hands.
“Oh no.”
Amy nodded.
“That was a robot explosion. I know that sound.”
Ray’s phone buzzed.
Megatron:
Mini-Commander Ray, we require help.
Wheeljack has detonated the assignment.
Ethan’s phone buzzed next.
Bumblebee:
pls come back school exploding
Lucy’s phone vibrated violently.
Optimus:
We believe Jazz has eaten the worksheets.
Amy opened hers last.
Ratchet:
Emergency. Everyone here is stupid.
Amy stood up immediately.
“Yes. They need us.”
The whole class stared.
Teacher blinked.
“Where… are you four going?”
Ray answered, “Robots.”
Ethan added, “Explosions.”
Lucy clarified, “Again.”
Amy finished, “We’ll be back.”
And they left before the teacher could breathe.
ROBOT SCHOOL = MECHANICAL CHAOS
When they arrived, the base looked like:
- a
half-burned kindergarten
- a
half-ruined science lab
- and
a half-exploded warehouse
Megatron greeted them dramatically.
“Mini-Commanders!
We attempted ‘homework’ and…
IT DID NOT GO WELL.”
Wheeljack raised a hand from the rubble.
“I tried to follow the instructions!
I just… improved them.”
Amy stared at him.
“Wheeljack. Why does the homework have ROCKET BOOSTERS?”
He blinked.
“I thought it would be educational.”
TEACHING TIME: HUMAN EDITION
The four kids stood at the front of the giant robot
classroom.
Ray clapped his hands.
“Okay, robots. Time for lessons.”
Ethan smirked.
“Try not to explode anything.”
Amy pointed sternly at everyone.
“That includes YOU, Megatron.”
Megatron flinched.
Lucy opened the attendance list.
“Autobots… alphabetically:
Arcee?”
“Present.”
“Bumblebee?”
beep-beep!
“Jazz?”
He dabbed.
“Ironhide?”
He was stuck in the doorway again.
“Decepticons… Starscream?”
“Present, superior in every way—”
“Sit down.”
Starscream sat like a scolded toddler.
