2. THE CAT

The kids set out into the city under Decepticon remote surveillance.

The cat’s name was…

MR. WIGGLESWORTH THE THIRD.

Amy crouched.
“Okay guys, we need to do this carefully—”

Ray yelled,
“MR. WIGGLESWORTH!!! COME OUT AND GET CUDDLED!!”

The cat, terrified, bolted.

Ethan sprinted after it.

Lucy sighed. “We’re doomed.”

The chase went like this:

• Ray ran into a vending machine.
• Ethan ran into Ray.
• Amy ran after them yelling.
• Lucy chased Amy yelling at her for yelling.
• Mr. Wigglesworth parkoured up a fire escape like a fluffy ninja.

And the Decepticons watched from base like bewildered parents.

Starscream: “THIS IS PAINFUL TO WATCH.”

Soundwave: “OBSERVATION: FAILURE PROBABILITY 98%.”

Megatron: “GIVE THEM TIME. THEY ARE…
CHAOTIC.
BUT DETERMINED.”

Optimus: “THAT IS… GENEROUS.”

3. SMALL PROBLEM: THE CAT IS IN A RESTRICTED FACILITY

Mr. Wigglesworth hopped through a broken vent into a huge warehouse.

Amy’s eyes widened.
“Oh no.”

Lucy whispered, “This place is… guarded.”

And indeed—

Four human security guards stood outside.

Ray cracked his fingers.
“I got this.”

Amy grabbed him.
“No you do NOT ‘got this.’”

Ethan raised a hand.
“Should we call Megatron?”

Lucy: “What is he gonna do? Walk in and ask politely?”

Cut to Decepticon base:

Megatron, staring at the situation,
“…YES THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO.”

Starscream: “You cannot.”

Megatron: “I KNOW.”
