Chapter 2: Bowling Disaster #2
By frame four, Ethan had developed a “new technique” called The
Tornado Twirl.
He’d spin three times before releasing the ball.
“Are you sure this is safe?” Lucy asked.
“Nope!” Ethan said cheerfully — then threw the ball
backward.
Everyone screamed.
The ball rolled between Lucy’s legs, hit the snack counter,
and miraculously bounced into a trash can.
Ray gasped. “THAT’S A STRIKE!”
Amy shouted, “THAT’S AN ACCIDENT!”
The entire lane applauded. Ethan took a bow.
“Ladies,” he said proudly, “I call that art.”
Amy threw a napkin at him. “You’re grounded and you don’t
even live with me.”
Chapter 3: Arcade Mayhem
After being “politely asked to leave” the bowling area, they
moved to the arcade.
Ethan and Ray instantly made it their mission to win
plushies for Amy and Lucy.
“Watch and learn,” Ray said, gripping the joystick like a
surgeon about to perform heart surgery.
He moved the claw machine carefully, dropped it — and
missed.
He tried again. And again. And again.
After fifteen tries, he still hadn’t caught anything.
Ethan patted his shoulder. “It’s okay, bro. The machine’s
rigged.”
Amy folded her arms. “You’ve spent ¥4,500 trying to win a
¥200 plushie.”
Ray glared at the machine. “It’s about principle,
Amy.”
Ethan cracked his knuckles. “Stand back. I’ve got this.”
He pressed a random button, the claw dropped immediately,
and somehow — somehow — it grabbed two plushies at once.
Lucy’s jaw dropped. “How did you—?”
Ethan winked. “Skill. And destiny.”
Ray screamed, “NOOOO! IT WAS MY TURN!” and tried to grab one
of the plushies. The machine beeped angrily.
They both got electrocuted by static discharge.
Amy clapped sarcastically. “Romantic.
You two should date.”
