Chaos at Round One 1

Chaos at Round One

It was supposed to be a fun Saturday at Round One — Japan’s ultimate arcade, bowling, and karaoke paradise. But when Ray and Ethan showed up, chaos arrived ten minutes early.

Amy and Lucy stood by the glass doors, holding their drinks, already regretting every life choice that led them to agree to this hangout.

“Why are we doing this again?” Lucy muttered, sipping her matcha latte with visible pain.

“Because,” Amy sighed, “if we don’t go, they’ll still show up and probably burn the place down trying to impress us.”

Right on cue, the sliding doors whooshed open.

“LADIES!” Ethan shouted, waving both arms like an air traffic controller. “The legends have arrived!”

Chapter 1: Bowling Disaster #1

Round One’s bowling alley glowed under neon lights. Music blasted. It should’ve been cool. It wasn’t.

Ethan strutted up to the counter like he owned the place. “We need the coolest bowling shoes you have.”

The clerk blinked. “Sir, they’re all the same.”

“Wrong,” Ethan said dramatically, pointing to a random pair. “Those ones… speak to me.”

They were size 29. Ethan’s foot was a 26.

Ten minutes later, he waddled onto the lane like a penguin trying to moonwalk.

Ray was worse. He somehow managed to tie his shoelaces together and face-planted before his first throw.

Amy turned to Lucy, deadpan. “I’m going to pretend I don’t know them.”

“Too late,” Lucy said. “Everyone’s already staring.”

When Ray finally threw his ball, it launched straight into the next lane — hitting another player’s pins.

The stranger turned, furious.

Ray pointed at Ethan. “He did it!”

Ethan, mid-dance celebrating his gutter ball, looked up. “Wait, what did I do this time?”

Amy sighed. “This is why we can’t have nice things.”
