Chapter 4 - Lunch Catastrophe at Tomorrowland
By lunchtime, everyone was starving. They stopped at a
burger place in Tomorrowland.
Ethan ordered a “double everything burger” and asked if he
could add “more future.” The cashier didn’t know how to respond.
When their food arrived, Ray squirted ketchup onto his fries
— but missed.
A full blob of ketchup splattered across Amy’s white shirt.
She froze.
“Ray.”
“Yes?”
“You have exactly three seconds to run.”
Ray bolted. Ethan followed, yelling, “RETREAT! OPERATION
ESCAPE AMY!”
Lucy sighed, sipping her soda. “And I thought Haunted
Mansion was scary.”
Five minutes later, Ray returned with a gift shop bag.
He handed Amy a Minnie Mouse hoodie. “Peace offering?”
Amy crossed her arms. “You’re lucky it’s cute.”
Ethan whispered, “She didn’t say no.”
Ray beamed. “Progress.”
Chapter 5 - It’s a Small World (of Regret)
Lucy insisted they go on It’s a Small World to “calm
down.”
Big mistake.
Ethan started waving at every animatronic like they were old
friends.
“Bro!” he said, pointing. “The Hawaiian dolls are vibing
with us!”
Ray joined in, bobbing his head to the song. “It’s a small
world after—”
Amy slammed her hands over her ears. “No! Don’t—”
“—AAALLLLLLLLL!” Ethan and Ray sang at full volume.
Lucy turned to Amy. “We’re trapped on a boat. With them.”
Amy looked dead inside. “I’m accepting my fate.”
By the time they got off, the entire ride staff was humming
the tune involuntarily.
Ray patted his chest. “Our voices touched hearts.”
Ethan nodded. “And ears. And nerves.”
