“THE FAIR THAT WAS HALF CIRCUS, HALF MIRACLE”
The charity fair officially entered Phase Two.
No one knew who named it that.
Ray suspected a robot.
Amy suspected a spreadsheet.
Lucy suspected trauma.
What everyone did know was this:
Half the school had turned into the weirdest chaos zone
ever recorded,
and the other half had somehow become the most effective community service
operation the city had seen since before the zombie invasion.
There was no in-between.
SECTION ONE: THE CHAOS ZONE (DO NOT ASK WHY THIS WAS
APPROVED)
It started small.
That was the first mistake.
1. The “Anything for a Dollar” Booth
Ray and Ethan’s idea.
For one dollar, they would “do literally anything legal.”
The first request:
“Bark like a dog.”
Ray barked like a dog with commitment issues.
Ethan escalated.
“I can be a dog.”
He crawled.
He fetched.
He chased a drone.
The line grew.
By noon, they were:
- Dramatically
fainting
- Speed-running
math homework
- Performing
Shakespeare in pirate accents
Amy shut it down when someone asked,
“Can you emotionally support me?”
2. The Roast Battle Tent (UNSUPERVISED)
This tent should not have existed.
Students roasted teachers.
Teachers roasted students.
Everyone roasted the microphone.
Ethan told the PA system,
“This mic has less confidence than Ray during PE.”
Ray replied,
“At least the mic knows when to stop talking.”
Coach Rex wandered in, watched for ten seconds,
and said,
“…I’ll allow it.”
3. The Magic Show That Wasn’t Magic
A student magician attempted card tricks.
Ray guessed every card wrong but confidently.
Ethan revealed the trick by accident.
The magician cried.
The crowd clapped anyway.
4. The Robotics Club Accidentally Summoned Fear
They meant to display robots.
Instead, the robot started judging people.
“SUBOPTIMAL WALKING FORM.”
The Transformers quietly unplugged it.
LLoC Quotes
“This mic has less confidence than Ray during PE.”...“At least the mic knows when to stop talking.”
