THE FARM ADVENTURE BEGINS

The kids marched outside.

The “school farm” was an impressive set of:

• garden beds
• a chicken coop
• herb terraces
• small greenhouse
• vegetable plots
• and a suspicious goose

“THIS IS IT,” Amy said with calm determination.
“We gather ingredients. Cook. Win.”

Lucy nodded, steady as a chef in training.

Ray pointed at a tomato.
“WE HUNT FRUIT!”
Ethan pointed at a carrot.
“WE TRACK THE ORANGE STICKS!”

Amy facepalmed.
Lucy sighed into the wind.

Amy collected:

RAY & ETHAN TEAM: “Please Don’t Touch Anything”

Ray tried to pick up a pumpkin but fell into the pumpkin patch.

Ethan examined mint leaves, licked one, and screamed,
“IT TASTES LIKE TOOTHPASTE!”

Ray chased chickens for no reason.
Ethan fed the goose a leaf.
The goose began chasing him.

He screamed,
“IT WANTS REVENGE FOR THE LEAF!!”

Ray climbed into a tree for “berries,”
but there were no berries.
He found a squirrel instead.

Amy dragged Ray down.
Lucy dragged Ethan away from the murder-goose.

But somehow—
some miraculous, incomprehensible “Ray and Ethan” magic—
they collected:

• one (1) cilantro leaf
• a carrot shaped like a question mark
• two eggs they accidentally sat on
• and a rock Ethan insisted was a truffle

“ETHAN,” Lucy said, “that is a rock.”

“A culinary rock,” he whispered proudly.

Back in class, Gordon timed them.

“30 MINUTES REMAINING!” he barked.
“COOK LIKE YOUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT!”

They:

• trimmed their steaks properly
• seasoned with salt + pepper + herbs
• seared using the Maillard reaction (real science!)
• sautéed spinach
• roasted tomatoes
• made a basil-garlic oil
• plated beautifully

Their pan sounded like applause.
Their food smelled like heaven.
Their station looked like a commercial kitchen.
