SECTION 2 — THE ARMORY
Megatron opened another door.
Inside:
Weapons.
Gadgets.
Glowing things labeled “DO NOT TOUCH OR YOU WILL DETONATE.”
Ray reached for one.
Megatron exhaled.
Picked Ray up.
Placed him on top of a tall shelf like a naughty cat.
“No.”
Ray dangled his legs. “Can’t stop me now!”
Ethan immediately walked into a tripwire.
Alarms blared.
Lights flashed red.
A hologram screamed: “CONTAIN THE HUMAN.”
Megatron picked Ethan up too and put him next to Ray on the
shelf.
“You two will remain here.”
Ray swung his feet. “We live here now.”
Ethan nodded. “We are shelf gremlins.”
Amy stood responsibly a safe distance from everything.
“I like the labeling system,” she said.
Megatron nodded. “Thank you. Starscream wanted color coding,
but I refused.”
Lucy gestured at a huge glowing bomb. “Um… why is THAT
blinking?”
Megatron paused.
“…because Starscream touched it.”
From across the base:
“I DID NOT— OKAY, MAYBE I DID.”
SECTION 3 — THE CALM ROOM
Megatron opened yet another door.
The kids expected a dungeon.
Instead:
Pastel walls.
Soft music.
Autobots doing yoga with Decepticons.
A sign that said “Mandatory Stress Relief Hour.”
Ray stared. “Bro… is Starscream doing downward dog?”
Starscream hissed, “IT IS CALLED FLEXIBILITY, YOU GREMLIN.”
Ethan whispered, “He looks like a metal pretzel.”
Megatron clapped his hands.
“Continue your breathing exercises, everyone.”
Shockwave inhaled deeply. “In… out… in… out… logic
restored.”
Lucy whispered to Amy, “This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever
seen.”
Amy nodded. “And we fought a zombie boss last week.”
