🛏️ BEDTIME: THE BIRD CANNOT BE STOPPED
They set up sleeping bags in Ray’s room.
Lucy: “Okay. Tonight, we sleep.”
Amy: “Yes. No chaos. No—”
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP
Cherry marched across the floor like a military commander.
Ethan whispered,
“She’s coming.”
Cherry stopped in the middle of the room.
Turned slowly.
Lifted her wings.
And did the loudest bird scream ever:
“SKWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!”
Everyone jumped out of their sleeping bags.
Ray: “CHERRY IT IS BED TIME STOP BEING A NIGHTMARE.”
Cherry strutted over to Ray’s sleeping bag…
…and climbed inside it.
Ray: “WHY IS THIS MY LIFE.”
Amy: “She loves you.”
Lucy: “In a… violent way.”
Ethan: “Same energy as Hana, but more scream.”
🌅 THE NEXT MORNING
Ray’s mom walked in and found:
- Ray
sleeping stiff as a board because Cherry was curled up on his chest
- Ethan
sleeping under a chair
- Lucy
sleeping in the laundry basket
- Amy
sleeping while Sunny’s stolen marshmallow (from last chapter) was somehow
next to her
- Cherry
sitting on Ray like she owned the house
Mom: “Breakfast?”
Cherry: “SKWEEEEEEEEEEEEE.”
Ray: “Take that as a yes.”

The squad goes to Amy’s house, where:
Her home is tidy.
Her rules are strict.
Her routines are perfect.
Which is EXACTLY why Ray and Ethan will destroy everything
in under five minutes.
