Chapter 8 - The Fireworks Finale
Despite everything, the staff let them stay in the plaza to
watch the fireworks.
As colors burst across the sky, everyone finally went quiet.
Amy smiled softly. “Okay… this part’s actually perfect.”
Lucy nodded. “Peaceful, even.”
Ray whispered, “You think Mickey forgives us?”
Ethan shrugged. “He has to. He’s the symbol of happiness.”
A sudden BOOM interrupted the moment — Ray had
accidentally stepped on a churro wrapper that caught fire from a stray spark.
Amy screamed. “HOW DO YOU EVEN—?!”
Ethan stomped it out with his shoe. “Crisis averted!”
Lucy groaned. “You two are walking disasters.”
Ray grinned. “But fun ones!”
Amy sighed. “…barely.”
Epilogue
As they left the park, exhausted and banned from at least
three attractions, Ethan stretched.
“Best. Day. Ever.”
Ray nodded. “Didn’t even die this time.”
Lucy muttered, “Yet.”
Amy rolled her eyes but smiled anyway. “You two are
impossible.”
Ethan slung an arm around Ray. “She means awesome.”
Ray nodded. “Yeah, she totally means awesome.”
Behind them, fireworks exploded one last time — spelling out
“Disney Dreams Come True.”
Lucy whispered, “For everyone except the employees who met
them today.”
Amy laughed for the first time all day.
And as they walked toward the train station, Ethan looked up
at the sky and said, “So… next week, Universal Studios?”
Amy and Lucy screamed together:
“NOOOOOOO!”
