Ray and Ethan vs. The Haunted House of Screams 3

Chapter 5: Dumb Decisions Multiply

They ran out of the kitchen, up another staircase, and into what looked like a child’s room. Dolls sat on the shelves, smiling way too much.

Ethan picked one up. “Aww, cute!”
The doll’s head spun 180 degrees.
Ethan screamed, threw it at Ray, and shouted, “KILL IT WITH CHEESE!”
“YOU ATE ALL THE CHEESE, YOU MORON!” Ray yelled.

Then, the closet door creaked open by itself. A faint whisper came from inside:
“Raaay… Eeethaaa…”
Ethan whispered back, “Bro, it knows our names.”
Ray glared. “We literally shouted them fifteen times already!”

They both hid under the bed. It was a bad idea—mainly because there was already something under there. Something cold brushed Ethan’s leg.
He whispered, “Ray… there’s something touching me.”
“That’s me.”
“No, I’m holding your hand!”
“Then WHOSE HAND IS THIS!?”

They screamed and rolled out, crashing into the hallway, knocking over a suit of armor that fell like dominoes.

Chapter 6: The Exit That Didn’t Exist

Panting and covered in dust, they finally spotted the front door.
“Finally!” Ray gasped. “Freedom!”
They ran toward it—
—and it slammed shut again.

“NOOO!” Ethan cried. “The door’s racist against idiots!”
“Then we’re doomed,” Ray said. “We’re the most discriminated group here.”

Suddenly, the ghostly lady appeared again—now with a faint smile.
“I’ll let you leave… if you answer my riddle.”
Ethan straightened up. “Oh! I’m great at riddles.”
Ray sighed. “No, you’re not. You once thought 2+2=fish.”

The ghost said, “What walks on four legs in the morning, two at noon, and three in the evening?”
Ethan raised his hand. “A… a chair?”
Ray facepalmed so hard he left a mark.
The ghost blinked. “You’re… wrong. But you’re also too stupid to haunt. Leave.”
The door swung open by itself.

“Wait—what?” Ray asked.
“You scare me,” she said, fading into mist.
