THE DAY SCHOOL STOPPED BEING NORMAL FOREVER 1

“THE DAY SCHOOL STOPPED BEING NORMAL FOREVER.”

The city was still healing.

Shops reopened with half-fixed shutters, people swept away the last bits of zombie sludge, and emergency crews patched up streets like they were covering holes in a giant pair of jeans. Life wasn’t normal—but it was moving again.

And so were Ray, Ethan, Amy, and Lucy.

After their secret mission to the Transformers Headquarters (and somehow teaching giant robots how to behave like functioning adults), it felt strange walking back through the school gates. Everything looked the same, but they didn’t feel the same. They weren’t just four kids anymore—they were the DeceptiKIDS, unofficial allies of Cybertron. And deep under the gym, behind a fake mop bucket and two biometric scanners, the Autobots and Decepticons had built a hidden base accessible only to the four of them.

But none of that was visible on the surface.

This morning was quiet.

The whole school gathered in the hall for a special assembly.

THE SERIOUS PART — NO JOKES ALLOWED

The principal stepped up to the microphone. His usual squeaky voice sounded different—lower, heavier.

“Students… teachers… today we mourn the citizens, classmates, and staff members we lost during the zombie invasion. Their bravery, their kindness, their lives—will not be forgotten. We stand together as a school family.”

There were no jokes, no whispers, no snickering.
Ray bowed his head.
Ethan stopped fidgeting.
Amy held Lucy’s hand.

For the first time, they all looked… older. Like kids who had faced something far bigger than homework and lunchtime drama—and survived.

A long moment of silence filled the hall.

Even the hidden robots underground powered down to honor it.

AND THEN… THE NEW TEACHERS ARRIVED

The principal cleared his throat.

“To support everyone as we rebuild, we’ve hired new staff. Please welcome our new teachers.”

The curtains opened like a dramatic stage play and chaos instantly re-entered the school’s atmosphere.
