The teacher sighed.
“Please, no one let Ray or Ethan near the emergency exit next time.”
Ray whispered to Ethan, “We did good today.”
Ethan grinned. “Yeah, bro. No casualties.”
Amy: “Except my sanity.”
Lucy: “And the hamster’s trauma.”

As they walked home, Ray looked proud.
“Dude, we survived fire, earthquake, and humiliation!”
Ethan: “We’re basically heroes.”
Behind them, smoke started coming from the science lab
window.
Amy blinked. “...That better be part of the next drill.”
Lucy: “Or it’s your fault again.”
Ray: “Hey, if it is a real fire, at least we’re already trained!”
BOOM.
Everyone ran.
