Halloween Costume Catastrophe 🎃👻
It was Halloween at Maplewood High — the best day of the
year for chaos, candy, and costumes.
The gym was decked out with fake cobwebs, paper bats, and a giant inflatable
pumpkin that looked like it was judging everyone.
Amy and Lucy had gone all out.
Amy wore a sparkling witch costume with a hat so perfect it could slice air.
Lucy was a vampire — elegant, serious, and terrifyingly organized.
And then came… Ray and Ethan.
The doors burst open.
Fog from their cheap smoke machine filled the hall.
Ethan yelled, “BOW DOWN TO THE LORDS OF HALLOWEEN!”
Everyone turned.
They stood there, side by side —
Ethan in a broken superhero costume with a towel for a cape,
and Ray in…
a banana suit.
Lucy blinked. “...You’re joking.”
Amy sighed. “You’re not even scary.”
Ray proudly adjusted his banana hood. “Excuse me, this banana strikes fear
into potassium-deficient hearts everywhere.”
Ethan added, “And I’m… Captain Spaghetti!”
Ray: “That’s not even Halloween!”
Ethan: “Neither is a fruit!”
Ray: “Bananas are scary if you step on them.”
Amy: “This is going to be a long day.”
🎭 The Costume Contest
The principal announced over the mic, “Best costume wins
free movie tickets!”
Ethan’s eyes lit up. “Free popcorn.”
Ray’s eyes lit up too. “Free air-conditioning.”
They were in.
Amy and Lucy were confident.
Ray and Ethan, however, immediately started arguing strategy.
Ethan: “We need a performance. Something dramatic.”
Ray: “What if we re-enact a scary movie?”
Ethan: “Yeah! Like Banana vs. Captain Spaghetti: Dawn of Dinner!”
Ray: “That’s not scary—”
Ethan: “It will be when I throw noodles.”
Amy groaned. “Whatever you’re planning, please don’t.”
Lucy: “He’s already holding noodles, isn’t he?”
Ethan grinned, pulling spaghetti from his pocket.
Amy: “WHY do you have that?”
Ethan: “For emergencies.”
