Amy entered with Noodle, her tiny cream-colored poodle, who
walked like royalty and smelled like expensive shampoo.
Everyone in the café melted instantly.

Sunny hissed at Noodle.

Lucy entered holding a little carrier.
Inside, Pikachu the hamster pressed his tiny paws on the
window like a star in a prison movie.
“Behold!” Lucy announced proudly. “The cutest hamster in
existence!”
Everyone leaned in.
Pikachu yawned.
He was adorable.
Even Sunny paused, confused.
Hana relaxed a little.
Cherry shrieked anyway.
“PIKA-CHUUUUUUUU,” Ray yelled, even though the hamster had
done nothing.
Lucy glared. “Please don’t shout Pokémon moves at my
hamster.”
Ray whispered, “Sorry.”
☕ THE ORDERING DISASTER ☕
The waitress hesitated as she approached their table.
“What would you… uh… like to order?”
Amy went first: “One caramel latte, please.”
Lucy: “Matcha cake and iced tea.”
Ray: “The MEGA MOUNTAIN CHOCOLATE SHAKE!”
Ethan: “Fried chicken.”
Amy turned slowly.
“Ethan… in a pet café? Seriously?”
“What? I’m hungry.”
Sunny stared at him like he betrayed cat-kind.
Noodle looked disturbed.
Cherry screamed.
Pikachu fainted (dramatically).
Ethan sighed. “Fine, fine, I’ll get… waffles.”
Sunny licked her lips.
The waitress scribbled everything down with trembling hands.
