They sat under a tree eating the “borrowed” sandwiches,
soaked, scraped, but somehow alive.
Amy chewed slowly. “Never again.”
Lucy nodded. “I’m changing my number after this.”
Ray laughed. “C’mon, that was amazing! We conquered the
sky!”
Ethan raised his sandwich like a toast. “To flight, friendship, and poor
decision-making!”
Amy muttered, “Mostly the last one.”
Ray looked at Ethan. “Bro, do you think we could go bungee
jumping next?”
Ethan gasped. “YES! But with TWO ropes for safety!”
Lucy groaned. “No ropes. No planes. No heights.”
Amy added, “No boys.”
Ray blinked. “So… spa day?”
Ethan nodded. “Adventure spa!”
Amy looked at Lucy, dead serious. “We’re going to need
therapy.”
Lucy sighed. “Or earplugs.”
And as the sun set, Ethan stood proudly on a log, wind in
his hair, yelling, “NEXT TIME—WE SKYDIVE AT NIGHT!”
Amy yelled back, “NO YOU WON’T!”
Ray yelled, “YES WE WILL!”
Lucy whispered, “Please no.”
But deep down, everyone knew it was only a matter of time
before the next disaster began.
