Suddenly, clouds rolled in. Thunder rumbled.
Lucy said, “We should stop. It’s unsafe to play in
lightning.”
Ray pointed at Ethan. “You just scared the clouds with your
swing!”
Ethan grinned. “True.”
Amy glared. “Let’s go back.”
Ray refused. “No way. We’re finishing this game like champions.”
Lightning flashed. Thunder roared.
Ray swung dramatically—missed—and fell straight into a
puddle.
Amy screamed. Lucy sighed. Ethan cackled.
Ray stood up dripping wet and yelled, “I AM ONE WITH THE
COURSE!”
🏆 CHAPTER 10: “Lucy: 70,
Amy: 85, Ethan: 78, Ray…Fun.”
They finally reached the 18th hole. Everyone was tired.
Muddy. Emotionally broken.
Lucy lined up—perfect drive. She was easily winning.
Amy hit solidly, still better than Ray.
Ethan stepped up and hit another incredible shot straight
down the fairway.
Then came Ray.
The wind blew dramatically. He gripped the club, closed his
eyes, whispered, “This one’s for honor.”
He swung—whiff.
He swung again—thud.
Third time—he hit the tee box, and the ball just… plopped
off.
Ethan fell to the ground laughing. “BRO YOU MADE THE EARTH
MOVE MORE THAN THE BALL!”
Ray screamed, “THE WIND BETRAYED ME!”
Amy put her face in her hands. Lucy calmly sank her last
putt.
“Final score,” Lucy said, “Lucy: 70, Amy: 85, Ethan: 78,
Ray…”
Ray: “...Fun.”
Amy: “You scored 174.”
Ray: “It’s a record!”
Lucy: “For disaster, yes.”
🏅 EPILOGUE: THE SCORECARD
OF SHAME
Later that night, the golf course manager handed them their
scorecard with a warning note attached:
“Please refrain from:
- Driving
carts into bunkers
- Feeding
ducks
- Doing
victory dances in the fairway
- Attempting
to hit lightning
Thank you for visiting.”
Ray grinned. “They remembered us!”
Ethan nodded. “We made history.”
Amy: “You made headlines in the complaint book.”
Lucy sighed, but smiled. “At least no one died this time.”
Ray winked. “Give it a week.”
